Asst. Vicar’s Message
Dearly Beloved in Christ,
Greetings to you all in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.” (Romans 1:16)
As we embark on this new chapter with the Trinity Mar Thoma family, I express my heartfelt gratitude to God for granting me the privilege of serving as the Assistant Vicar of this parish. Each new sunrise testifies to the Lord’s faithfulness, and every gentle breeze of a new day reminds us of His renewed mercies, inviting us to deepen our faith, enrich our fellowship, and strengthen our love.
As we journey together in this chapter of grace, let us proceed not by our own strength, but by the strength of the One who calls us. May our actions be guided by faith that trusts beyond what is seen, by unity that reflects the body of Christ, by humility that mirrors the mind of our Savior, and by love that originates from God.
The month of May holds particular significance, as it marks two important observances: Mother’s Day and Memorial Day.
On Mother’s Day, we express our gratitude and honor to all mothers who have served as instruments of God’s love in our lives. Their sacrifices, prayers, care, and unconditional love have shaped our identities. Through a mother’s embrace, we witness a reflection of God’s boundless love. Let us take time to thank our mothers and remember the silent struggles and prayers they offered for our well-being.
As we observe Memorial Day, we remember with gratitude the courageous men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. We honor both the fallen and their families, who endured hardship and loss in their absence. Their sacrifice reminds us of the true cost of freedom and calls us to live with gratitude, responsibility, and prayer for our nation and armed forces.
I extend my heartfelt prayers and blessings to all students preparing for their examinations. May God grant them wisdom, peace, confidence, and success in their efforts.
For those traveling to India during the summer vacation, I encourage you to visit the mission institutions and centers of our Church. These visits can inspire us, especially the younger generation, to appreciate the rich heritage of our faith and the ongoing mission and ministry of the Church.
May the grace of our Lord strengthen and guide each of us in the days ahead. Let us continue to grow together as one family in Christ, serving God and one another with joy.
With prayers and blessings,
Rev. Sonu Varughese
Assistant Vicar
Trinity Mar Thoma Church
